True Abandonment
"True abandoment, giving myself to God in utter dependence on His willingness to give Himself to me, pleads only mercy. It allows me no room for control. It includes no claim I have on God that obligates Him to do anything. Only suffering has the power to bring me to this point."
I hate suffering, but I think it's probably the only thing that really succeeds in humbling us - knowing that only God can help us make us realize how helpless we are without Him.
